Strategies in Light (SiL) 2013 is being held right now at the Santa Clara Convention Center and goes on till Feb 14. The show has been going on for 14 years and targets mostly the LED and lighting industry. The conference includes workshops, plenary sessions, and forums. It also consists of the LED & Lighting technology track, the LED & Lighting market track, and the Manufacturing track. The conference attracts about 4,600 attendees and about 200 exhibiting companies. The following are a few products that were introduced at SiL.
iWatt launched at the show the iW3630 in which the company believes it to be the first SSL LED driver with a built-in 0- to 10-V dimming interface for commercial lighting ballasts. It is a two-stage, Flickerless LED driver with output power up to 45 W. It also provides a PWM digital dimming interface for wireless SSL applications. The part maintains a very high PF even at loads down to 20% of full load, and also features a built-in over-temperature protection and derating function to improve system operating life predictability and reliability.
Global Lighting Technologies introduced at the show a new LED-based ring light that can be integrated into a wide variety of products from desk lamps to vanity mirrors to automotive interior lighting such as cup holders and clocks. Read here
Infineon Technologies introduced the ILD6070/ILD6150 60-V dc/dc LED drivers that offer efficiency up to 98%, benchmark current accuracy of 3% across the full 4.5 to 60-V input range that helps assure constant light output, and first-in-the-industry adjustable over-temperature protection that protects light elements from damage through overheating. The drivers give lighting manufacturers the flexibility to produce multiple products using the same drivers, based on wide input voltage range (4.5 to 60V), adjustable output current of up to either 0.7 A or 1.5 A, and support of digital or analog dimming inputs with a maximum dimming contrast ratio as high as 3,000:1.
Atmel Corporation introduced the MSL2021,MSL2023,MSL2024 two-channel solid state lighting (SSL) LED drivers which provide accurate color control for two-color LED light engines. Read here
